California DA Warns Chilean Gang Burglaries Are Washington’s ‘Biggest Secret’

Chilean robbery gangs have been operating across the US for years — but ignored by the feds until they started targeting star athletes like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, according to a California district attorney pushing for a legal change to crack down on them.

“These Chileans have been coming here for years and everybody knows about it,” Orange County DA Todd Spitzer told “Fox & Friends” Thursday, calling it “tourism burglary.”

“This is the biggest secret in Washington that no one seems to want to do anything about.”

{snip} He claims the Department of Justice and Homeland Security have been long aware of the issue but have also declined to act.

The issue is only being raised now that several illegal migrants from Chile have been indicted for a string of robberies that stole millions in valuables from the homes of athletes {snip}

The DA is calling for Chile to be removed from a US visa waiver program, arguing that Chilean nationals have been abusing the system {snip}

The program allows foreigners from member countries to enter the US for up to 90 days without a visa. Chile is the only current South American country out of the 43 countries in the program.
